Lungarni of Pisa

The Lungarni, the streets that run along the Arno River, are the ideal place for a walk immersed in the history and beauty of Pisa. Along the way, you can admire splendid historic buildings, such as Palazzo Gambacorti, now the seat of the Municipality, and Palazzo Reale, once the residence of the Medici.
At sunset, the Lungarni offer evocative sunsets, when the sky is tinged with warm hues and the light reflects on the waters of the Arno, creating a romantic and relaxing atmosphere. It is the perfect time to stop at one of the many venues along the river and enjoy an aperitif with a view, sipping a good Tuscan wine or a cocktail, accompanied by local specialties.
One of the most spectacular events that take place along the river is the Luminara di San Ranieri, on June 16: on this occasion, thousands of lit candles decorate the profiles of the buildings, transforming the Lungarni into an enchanting trail of lights and reflections on the water, in a unique and evocative atmosphere.
